Lifetime friends, Rod Jacobson, Danny Dickman and John Hoffman merged together in 1999 to create an incredible album of Rockin Bluez. Danny’s amazing guitar licks and “rock and roll” expertise, Rod’s unique drumming technique along with John’s dynamic vocals and walking bass lines, generate the dynamic sound of the Homeless Bluez Band. Putting the harmonies up front makes this a very unique rockin' blues band. These seasoned veterans will be around for a very long time.
Danny Dickman—Guitars/Vocals/Songwriter. Danny moved from Heidelberg Germany to San Francisco, then on to Salt Lake City. He formed one of the hottest local concert acts to ever come out of Salt Lake City—”The TOOLS” which were nearly signed to Geffen Records in the 80’s. The Tools opened for such major national acts as Robin Trower, The Tubes, Molley Hatchet, Black Oak Arkansas, Bad Finger, and others. From 200 seat clubs to 20,000 seat concert venues, Dan has played them all. Dan has four albums to his credit along with extensive television, radio and studio time. Dan’s vocals, songwriting expertise, and the spectacular ability to create original guitar sounds, makes him an outstanding performer.
John Hoffman—Lead Vocals/Bass Guitar/Songwriter. John’s dynamic, melodic vocals and powerful walking bass technique lay down the drive for the sensational sound of the Homeless Bluez Band. The former front man and vocalist for the Tools had the ability to command both club and concert audiences with his energetic showmanship. John has played with: “Billy the Kid”, “THE TOOLS”, and “Riff-Raff”and “Fyreye”. John was the winner of the MTV basement tape award while playing and performing with “Fyreye”.
Rod Jacobson—Percussion/Drummer. Rod’s unique style of drumming, takes him from good old rock and roll to up-tempo Bluez rock. His powerhouse drumming energizes you with a hard-hitting straightforward style. His solid drive will definitely keep your toes tapping and his entertaining stage presence is a real crowd pleaser. You will remember Rod in “Itchy Brother”, “Electric Blues”, “Nasty Mac”, “Buster Jiggs”, “Steam Boat”, and “The Dinosaurs”.
